If you are interested in improving or learning one of the two official languages of the Brussels-Capital Region, you can benefit of a maximum reimbursement of 200 euros for French or Dutch language courses. Language courses must be taken in parallel with the internship and not before.

General information

Working with a small and polyvalent team in the heart of Brussels, the Communication Assistant will have to be able to deal with various tasks related to the daily management of ongoing projects and the drafting of content for external communication channels. This demands significant flexibility and a strong willingness to engage in the field of lifelong learning.

Job description and tasks

-Draft content for external communication channels (e.g. newsletter and web articles), including social media
-Support the internal communication to members and the wider network (including internal newsletters)
-Engage in conversations with members
-Design of communication assets (logos, banners, etc.)
-Design of communication materials (leaflets, publications, reports, etc.)
-Implementation of dissemination and exploitation strategies
-Liaise with the policy team for dissemination opportunities
-Support the team in the organisation of events

Profile of the Trainee

Qualifications

Candidates must have a bachelor's and/or master's degree in European studies, education studies, political science, communication, or be qualified by experience.

Personal and Social Skills

- Being action-orientated, autonomous (not being shy to ask for help) and willing to take initiative;
- Being motivated to promote lifelong learning;
- Having an eye for detail and knowing to keep to deadlines and report back on tasks completed.

Language Skills

Strong writing and editing skills in English. Any additional language is a plus.

Information Technology (IT) Skills

The Assistant must have a good knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. The Assistant must be open to learning how to use social media tools, Canva, Brevo, and Wix, as these are some of the other tools used internally.

Other Skills

- A genuine interest in lifelong learning, education and training
- Good writing and analysis skills, with the ability to adapt own language to the target audience
- Good computer skills and media literacy
- Experience with communication tools and social media, including Canva, Brevo, and CMSs
- Knowledge of EU funding programmes (especially Erasmus+)
- Knowledge of additional languages
