Who are we? The CETAF community unites major natural history and natural science museums, botanic gardens and research centres in Europe to create a unique research network formed by 46 Members including 81 research organizations across 27 countries. The collections at the heart of CETAF Members facilitate fundamental geodiversity and biodiversity research, particularly in taxonomy and systematics, that enables ground-breaking discoveries across broad fields of science. The CETAF community jointly holds 1.5 billion specimens which represents about 80% of the world’s described species. These institutions and their researchers are custodians of this irreplaceable natural heritage that serves scientific and social progress.
We are looking for an enthusiastic "Communications Assistant" to support the handling and maintenance of both the corporate and EU-funded project websites and social media.
The candidate should be at ease with IT, and will participate in the updating of websites and the improvement of the online presence of CETAF and the services offered by CETAF.
MAIN TASKS
Update the CETAF website
Contribute to maintaining and improving other projects or initiatives related websites
Create social media campaign content
Propose, and co-develop visual multimedia documents/material (e.g. press kit, flyers, brochures, presentations, posters, videos)
Develop adn implement marketing campaigns for CETFA services
Participate in the development of communication materials (printed and digital)
Produce communication content (from press releases to blog content and/or social media posts).
Profile of the Trainee
Qualifications
Degree/Interest in Communications, Graphic, Public Relations, Event Planning, Media Manager, Marketing, etc.
Personal and Social Skills
Solid digital skills
Experience in social media management, with particular focus on BlueSky, LinkedIn and YouTube
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Google One
Competency in CMS management for web maintenance (Wordpress)
Video and photo elaboration skills (Canva, Photoshop, iMovie, Premiere,...)
Comfortable use of various communication tools and platforms (e.g. project management tools)
Well-organized with an eye for detail
Proactiveness and willingness to learn.
Ability to work both in a team and independently
Enthusiastic and positive attitude
Language Skills
* Fluent knowledge of English.
* Fair knowledge of French and other EU languages is considered a plus
Information Technology (IT) Skills
* Knowledge of website maintenance and CMS (Wordpress)
* At ease with technology
* Working knowledge of MS Office, Wordpress, OneDrive and photo and video production (Canva, iMovie, Photoshop, Premiere…)
Other Skills
* Capability to search and find information throughout the web and social media
* Database creation and administration
