The trainee will integrate the Conservation and Restoration Services Division focusing on the conservation and restoration of photographic materials and graphic documents. Their tasks will include:
Condition Assessment: Examining photographic collections and graphic documents to evaluate their state of preservation and identify deterioration issues.
Preventive Conservation: Assisting in the implementation of preventive conservation measures, including appropriate storage, handling, and environmental control.
Documentation and Inventory: Participating in the documentation of conservation treatments and condition reports.
Conservation Treatments: Assisting in conservation-restoration interventions on photographs, manuscripts, prints, and other paper-based materials under the supervision of senior conservators.
Exhibition and Handling: Collaborating in the preparation of documents and photographs for exhibitions, ensuring proper conservation standards.
This traineeship provides a hands-on experience in the conservation and restoration of photographic and graphic heritage, within an institutional framework dedicated to cultural preservation.
