Is linguistic training mandatory?

The language course will last 80 hours and takes place in the first month of the internship (from 1 to 30 June).
At the end of the Language course, each participant will receive a certificate.

Is pocket money required for the first month?

  • Local public transportation
  • Each trainee is entitled to a monthly allowance of 800 EUR, calculated according to the period provided by the region. That amount is to cover food and personal expenses. Trainees should bring some extra money in order to face the expenses during the first month. The scholarship will be transferred to the bank account in the region of origin of the trainees, at the end of each month.

Accommodation Availability

The accommodation provided by the program is the Youth Center of “Pico dos Barcelos”( see photos in the link below), located near the city of Funchal. Interns are accommodated in single rooms, equipped with private bathroom. In terms of amenities, the house also has a kitchen and common living and dining room, TV, internet access and is close to a bus station. The expenses of accommodation are supported by Madeira Region.

Regarding transportation each trainee will receive a transport card to use on the “SIGA” buses. The card will enable them to travel between their accommodation and the traineeship location, as well as around the island of Madeira.
