NoDescription of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):
The intern will support institutional activities under the supervision of the professional team. Responsibilities may include:
• Facilitating social interaction and providing supportive communication to residents.
• Assisting in the planning and implementation of social, educational, and community‑based activities.
• Observing residents’ social, behavioural, and environmental needs and reporting relevant information to the supervising social worker.
• Supporting residents in maintaining daily routines, autonomy, and social engagement, according to team guidance.
• Contributing to the organisation of group initiatives, community events, and well‑being programmes.
• Providing non‑clinical assistance, including preparation of materials, organisation of common areas, and logistical support for activities.
• Assisting with basic administrative tasks related to resident documentation, participation records, and institutional procedures.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to promote a respectful, inclusive, safe, and socially supportive environment.
Profile of the Trainee
Qualifications
Applications are open to professionals with a minimum of Level VI qualification in Social Worker.
• Supervision and guidance provided by Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana’s professional staff.
Personal and Social Skills
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
• Motivation to learn and interest in psychology, gerontology, or related fields.
• Strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and patience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different situations and work as part of a team.
• Organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
• No previous experience is required, though it is considered an asset.
Language Skills
Accepted languages: Candidates who speak and understand: Portuguese, Spanish, English, or French are welcome, provided they can communicate effectively with staff and residents.
Information Technology (IT) Skills
Not required.
Other Skills
Ability to communicate with clarity, empathy, and respect in any of the accepted languages is essential.
