The intern will support institutional activities under professional supervision. Responsibilities may include:
• Facilitating structured social interaction and offering appropriate emotional support to residents.
• Assisting in cognitive, recreational, and therapeutic activities, such as reminiscence sessions, reading groups, arts‑based tasks, games, and sensory stimulation.
• Observing residents’ behavioural, cognitive, and emotional responses and reporting relevant findings to the supervising psychologist or designated staff.
• Supporting residents with orientation and daily routines in accordance with team guidance.
• Contributing to the preparation and organisation of group sessions, workshops, and well‑being initiatives.
• Providing non‑clinical support, including preparation of materials, organisation of common areas, and documentation related to activities.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to maintain a respectful, safe, and psychologically informed environment.
Profile of the Trainee
Qualifications
Applications are open to professionals with a minimum of Level VI qualification in Clinical Psychology.
• Supervision and guidance provided by Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana’s professional staff.
Personal and Social Skills
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
• Motivation to learn and interest in psychology, gerontology, or related fields.
• Strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and patience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different situations and work as part of a team.
• Organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
• No previous experience is required, though it is considered an asset.
Language Skills
Accepted languages: Candidates who speak and understand: Portuguese, Spanish, English, or French are welcome, provided they can communicate effectively with staff and residents.
Information Technology (IT) Skills
Not required.
Other Skills
Ability to communicate with clarity, empathy, and respect in any of the accepted languages is essential.
