Is linguistic training mandatory?

The course includes 80 hours of Spanish lessons and 20 hours of Catalan lessons. The Spanish language course is divided intro three levels according to the different levels of participants. If the group with a highest level of Spanish is over C1, that group will have the Spanish hours reduced and the Catalan hours increased up to 50 hours of Catalan. This will be decided by the teachers once the levels have been tested.

How to get there?

By plane: from Barcelona–El Prat Airport, you can take the Aerobús (A1 or A2) towards Plaça Catalunya. From there, take bus 22 in the direction of El Carmel and get off at the stop Pg Mare de Déu del Coll – Cartago, right in front of the hostel.

By train: from Sants Estació, you can take the metro (green line, L3) to Vallcarca, exiting via the lift on Av. República Argentina. Then take bus 22 towards El Carmel at stop 2800 (Av. República Argentina – Vallcarca) and get off at stop 848 (Pg Mare de Déu del Coll), in front of the hostel.

Other buses: after 22:50, bus 22 is replaced by the night bus N-5.

Cultural visits will be organised by the youth hostel itself and during the period of the language training course. All activities will take place in Barcelona, and at least one activity will be organised somewhere else in Catalonia.

Financial support calendar:
(1) LANGUAGE COURSE: no payment, all expenses covered.
(2) FIRST MONTH OF TRAINEESHIP: payment 1 comes at the end of the month (2) or anytime during month (3).
(3) SECOND MONTH OF TRAINEESHIP: payment 2 comes anytime during month (4) or (5).
(4) THIRD MONTH OF TRAINEESHIP: payment 3 comes anytime during month (4) or (5).
(5) FOURTH MONTH OF TRAINEESHIP: payment 4 comes anytime during month (5) or after finalising the traineeship.
(6) FIFTH MONTH OF TRAINEESHIP: payment 5 comes after finalising the traineeship.

Payments which have to take place during the month of AUGUST or JANUARY can expect longer delays due to administrative closure or budget availability.

Is accommodation provided by the region?

During the first month full-board accommodation is provided. Participants will stay in shared rooms with other Eurodyssey participants at a youth hostel in Barcelona (https://xanascat.gencat.cat/ca/albergs/albergs/barcelona-xanascat)

During the internship period, participants will receive an allowance to cover accommodation and food expenses. Each participant has to take care of looking for his or her own accommodation. The Eurodyssey correspondents in Catalunya, as well as the hosting company will offer support to find the accommodation, if needed.

Requisits per a poder participar en el programa Eurodyssey des de Catalunya:

1. Disposar de DNI o passaport de la Unió Europea
2. Residir a Catalunya els 6 mesos anteriors a participar en la selecció
3. Aportar el títol o resguard de grau, CFGS, CFGM
4. Complir els requisits d’estudis i lingüístics descrits a l’oferta
5. Adjuntar: CV Europass + carta de motivació en anglès –indicant la referència de l’oferta sol·licitada- en anglès o l’idioma de la regió d’acollida
6. Estar inscrit a l’oficina del SOC el dia abans de marxar a l’estranger i enviar una còpia de full DARDO a [email protected]
7. No haver gaudit d’una beca Eurodissea amb anterioritat
