Trainees – Language course

Language learning and valuing language diversity are an important component of the Eurodyssey experience, and a core value of the Assembly of European Regions (AER). Language courses are either arranged by the regions themselves, or they provide the trainees with an extra stipend for them to finance their language course, among the options recommended by the regions.

If the trainees do not already speak the language of their host region / country, the language course is mandatory.

Two options exist, depending on the regions:

  • Option 1: a one-month intensive language course in the host region, before the traineeship starts.
  • Option 2: weekly language courses, in parallel to the traineeship.

The traineeship offers mention the language level they expect from the trainees, using the CEFR system, which is the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, ranking language levels from A1 to C2.
