NoDescription of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):
The candidate will perform tasks within the IMAR/OKEANOS project REDRESS - “Restoration of deep-sea habitats to rebuild European Seas”- financed by Horizon Inovation Actions program. Specific tasks include:
1. Participation in field trips for the collection of biological samples and cold-water corals and other deep-sea benthic organisms for restoration and experimentation in the lab (0.5 months, 10%);
2. Preparation of coral nubbins for propagation and experiments (1 month, 20%);
3. Assistance in the preparation of aquarium systems used for experiments and structures for transplantation to the deep sea (1 month, 20%);
4. Monitoring of experiments, including measurements of water quality parameters (pH, temperature, salinity) and feeding of corals and other deep-sea benthic organisms (2 months, 20%);
5. Compilation and analysis of data (0.5 months, 10%);
O canditato realizará tarefas no âmbito do projeto em curso no IMAR/OKEANOS, REDRESS - “Restoration of deep-sea habitats to rebuild European Seas”- financiado pelo programa Horizon Inovation Actions. As tarefas específicas incluem:
1. Participação em saídas de mar para recolha de corais de profundidade e outros organismos bentónicos para restauração e fins experimentais (0.5 meses, 10%);
2. Preparação de fragmentos de coral para propagação e experimentação (1 mês, 20%);
3. Apoio na preparação de sistemas de aquários de suporte a experiências e estruturas para transplantação de corais no mar profundo (1 mês, 20%);
4. Monitorização de experiências em curso e medição de parâmetros da qualidade da água dos aquários (pH, temperatura, salinidade) e alimentação dos corais e outros organismos bentónicos de profundidade (2 meses, 20%);
5. Participação na introdução e análise de dados (0.5 meses, 10%);

Bachelor degree in Marine Sciences or similar.
Licenciatura em Ciências do Mar ou área afim.
