Practical Information
Xanascat Youth HostelHow to get there:
By plane: From Barcelona-El Prat Airport, you can take the Aerobús (A1 or A2) towards ‘Plaça Catalunya’. From there, take bus 22 towards El Carmel to the stop Pg Mare de Déu del Coll – Cartago, right in front of the hostel.
By train: From Sants Estació, you can take the metro (green line; L3) to Vallcarca, exit via the elevator on Av. República Argentina. Then, take bus line 22 towards ‘El Carmel’ at stop 2800 Av. República Argentina-Vallcarca to stop 848 Pg Mare de Déu del Coll, in front of the hostel.
Other buses: After 22:50, bus 22 is replaced by the night bus N-5.
Rooms and meals At the hostel, you will share a room with other participants of the Eurodyssey program. You will have access to clean sheets and towels every week. Laundry for your personal clothes is not covered by the program.
During your stay at the hostel, breakfast (8:00 – 9:00), lunch (13:00 – 14:00), and dinner (19:00 – 20:30) are included. You must inform us before arrival if you require a special diet.

You will be part of a small team led by the Street Child EU Development Manager. Below are some examples of your responsibilities but you will spend 60% of your time on the first 2 tasks:
Fundraising research: find new funding prospects including trusts, foundations and major donors in Italy, and contact them.
Foundations proposal writing: write funding proposals for trusts and foundations using knowledge of previous, current and upcoming Street Child projects.
Marketing and Communications: promote local and international events, update the website.
Administrative tasks: support day-to-day tasks for Street Child Italia.
Business development: build and manage collaborations and partnerships with other organizations and companies.
Volunteer coordination and event management: manage the existing volunteer base and help recruit new volunteers to the network. Support planned events and develop new ideas.

Qualifications
Interest in the non-profit sector and in Street Child’s mission.
Areas of University studies:
Include but are not limited to marketing, international relations, human rights, development, economics or global affairs.
Personal and Social Skills
Excellent communication skills with professional manner via telephone and email.
Self-motivated, Pro-active and innovative thinking with the ability to use your initiative and work independently.
Language Skills
Italian native and English skills are required.
Information Technology (IT) Skills
Knowledge of the web, social media and Microsoft Office will be needed.
