Preparing ingredients (washing, peeling, and cutting food);
Assisting in the preparation of simple dishes;
Plating food under the supervision of the chef and sous chef;
Keeping the kitchen clean and organized;
Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment;
Storing food properly and safely;
Assisting with receiving and checking deliveries;
Following hygiene and safety standards by maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment and using protective equipment correctly;
Replenishing stock of food and supplies;
Assisting with waste management and supporting the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Profile of the Trainee
Qualifications
Formation in the kitchen area with the minimum obligatory level of education completed - Preferred but no mandatory.
Food and Hygiene and Food Production degrees (not mandatory)
Personal and Social Skills
Professional appearance and attitude;
Communicative, with good teamwork abilities,
Organized, with good time management skills (Fundamental during busy shifts);
Resilient and capable of concluding tasks within a sort window of time;
Result oriented, focused on service and resource optimization;
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures regarding food manipulation.
Language Skills
Able to understand and communicate in English and preferably, also able to understand a bit of Portuguese.
Information Technology (IT) Skills
Basic knowledge of Office applications.
Other Skills
Fluency in other languages other than English or Portuguese (preferred);
Leadership and team supervision abilities (not mandatory);
