NoDescription of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):
1) The candidate will participate in the mapping and identification of the main stakeholders involved in the hook-and-line fishing value chain in the Azores archipelago and will assist in creating an initial database of contacts containing detailed information
(2) The candidate will participate in the development and adaptation of questionnaires fitted to the different types of stakeholders identified, and in administering these whenever possible, through face-to-face and/or remote interviews
(3) The candidate will participate in the organisation, systematisation and preparation of the data obtained, creating standardised databases and preparing the information for exploratory and qualitative analysis of the value chain
(4) The candidate will participate in the exploratory analysis and synthesis of the data collected, contributing to the identification of geographical and operational patterns and variations in the region’s fisheries
(5) The candidate will participate in the visualisation and mapping of the value chain, supporting the creation of product, information and value flow diagrams, as well as the preparation of tables and fact sheets to support scientific illustrations and team reports
1) O candidato participará no levantamento e identificação dos principais stakeholders envolvidos na cadeia de valor das pescarias de linha e anzol no arquipélago dos Açores, e apoiará na criação de uma base inicial de contactos com informações detalhadas
(2) O candidato participará no desenvolvimento e adaptação de questionários direcionados aos diferentes tipos de stakeholders identificados, e aplicação dos mesmos sempre que possível, através de entrevistas presenciais e/ou remotas. (2 meses, 30%)
(3) O candidato participará na organização, sistematização e preparação dos dados obtidos, criando bases de dados padronizadas e preparando a informação para análise exploratória e qualitativa da cadeia de valor
(4) O candidato participará na análise exploratória e síntese dos dados recolhidos, contribuindo para a identificação de padrões e variações geográficas e operacionais nas pescarias da região
(5) O candidato participará na visualização e mapeamento da cadeia de valor, apoiando a criação de diagramas de fluxo de produto, informação e valor, bem como a elaboração de tabelas e fichas que sirvam de suporte a ilustrações científicas e relatórios da equipa
Profile of the Trainee
Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Marine Sciences, Biology, Marine Resource Management, or related fields
Licenciatura/Mestrado em Ciências do Mar, Biologia, Gestão de Recursos Marinhos ou áreas afins
Personal and Social Skills
Motivation, autonomy, good organizational and communication skills
Motivação, autonomia, capacidade de organização e de comunicação.
Language Skills
Good knowledge in English (knowledge of Portuguese is highly valued)
Bom domínio de Inglês (o conhecimento de português é valorizado)
Information Technology (IT) Skills
Good knowledge of Word and Excel (basic knowledge of data analysis is an advantage)
