Description of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):

The trainee will be part of the technical team of the Priolo Environmental Center (http://centropriolo.spea.pt), located in the northeast region of São Miguel Island in the Azores, collaborating in the reception of visitors to this Center. It will also monitor, prepare and disseminate the various environmental awareness activities and promote environmental conservation actions of the Azores' natural resources, especially the Priolo (the only species of terrestrial passeriform endemic to S. Migeul island in the Azores) and its habitat - Laurisilva Forest, both threatened . Participate in events, fairs among others organized with the same goal. The trainee will also integrate the school program developed in the educational entities in the island of São Miguel, accompanying the trips of the technicians to the schools as well as the preparation and organization activities and field trips for these students. It will have the possibility of participating in some field actions that will take place at the time, contributing to the conservation of natural resources of the Azores, such as biodiversity found in the Terras do Priolo (Municipalities of the Northeast and Povoação) or in other ongoing Projects coordinated by SPEA Azores : //speaacores.blogspot.pt/)

Profile of the Trainee

Qualifications

Degree in Environmental Education, Environmental Sciences, Biology and related, Tourism and related, Communication and related.

Personal and Social Skills

Motivation to work on environmental conservation project, ability to work as a team, be able to work autonomously, good interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Language Skills

Knowledge of Portuguese, English.

Information Technology (IT) Skills

Knowledge of Office from the user's perspective.

Other Skills

Good communication skills. Predisposition to outdoor activities with groups
