NoDescription of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):
To assist with the daily activities of the company, mostly regarding whale-watching trips and related work. This will include, among others, the preparation of the trips, assistance to the clients, guiding and providing useful information during the trips, and cetacean data collection onboard. The internship will gain knowledge and experience working in a responsible tourism environment, environmental education, and cetacean research, from data collection to initial data processing and analyses. The main task will be to assist and participate in the daily events and projects of the company, including tourism, outreach, and educational activities or tasks. There will be opportunities to join some of the research initiatives currently ongoing in the company.

A tarefa principal dos/as estagiários/as será participar e apoiar as atividades diárias da empresa, principalmente no que respeita às viagens turísticas de observação de cetáceos e trabalhos inherentes ás mesmas. Isto inclui, entre outros, a preparação das viagens e do equipamento, atenção ao cliente, guia a bordo fornecendo informação educativa, sobre os cetáceos e o seu ambiente durante as viagens, e registro de dados de ocorrência de cetáceos. O/A estagiário/a ganhará conhecimento e experiência trabalhando num ambiente de turismo responsável, onde a educação ambiental é parte integrante do serviço diário, e a investigação -desde a recolha de dados até o seu processado e análise preliminar- faz parte das tarefas esssenciais. Haverá oportunidade de participar nos eventos e projetos que se desenvolvem na empresa durante o periodo em questão, incluindo turismo, divulgação, atividades educativas ou outras tarefas de interesse; assim como também participar em atividades mais relacionadas com os atuais projetos de investigação a decorrer na empresa.

Qualifications
- Degree in Biology, Marine Sciences or similar (mandatory)
- Boat license (preferential)
- Experience working with science outreach or environmental education (desirable)
- Experience working with cetaceans (desirable)

- Carta de navegação (Patrão Local ou similar) (preferencial)
