NoDescription of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):
The intern will support direct care activities under the supervision of the nursing team. Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting residents with basic activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, comfort, and mobility support, according to team instructions.
• Supporting the staff in preparing materials, organising equipment, and maintaining clean, safe, and functional care environments.
• Assisting during mealtime routines by ensuring resident comfort, providing support when needed, and promoting a safe and calm atmosphere.
• Observing residents’ general condition and promptly communicating relevant changes—such as behaviour, comfort, or mobility—to the nursing team.
• Helping organise and support health‑promotion activities, group initiatives, and daily routines in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
• Performing non‑clinical tasks such as preparing rooms, distributing materials, organising common areas, and assisting with logistical needs.
• Contributing to a respectful, safe, and person‑centred environment aligned with institutional values.
Profile of the Trainee
Qualifications
Eligibility requirement: minimum Level IV qualification for the position of Healthcare Assistant.
• Supervision and guidance provided by Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana’s professional staff.
Personal and Social Skills
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
• Motivation to learn and interest in psychology, gerontology, or related fields.
• Strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and patience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different situations and work as part of a team.
• Organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
• No previous experience is required, though it is considered an asset.
Language Skills
Accepted languages: Candidates who speak and understand: Portuguese, Spanish, English, or French are welcome, provided they can communicate effectively with staff and residents.
Information Technology (IT) Skills
Not required.
Other Skills
Ability to communicate with clarity, empathy, and respect in any of the accepted languages is essential.
