NoDescription of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):
The intern may support various areas of the institution, always under the guidance and supervision of the professional team. Tasks may include:
Support clinical observation of patients’ emotional, behavioural, and cognitive functioning.
Assist in therapeutic activities, including cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and emotional support sessions.
Help patients with daily living tasks, promoting autonomy and maintaining functional abilities.
Provide behavioural and emotional support, especially for patients with dementia or psychiatric conditions.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, sharing observations and participating in care planning.
Support health promotion and psychoeducation activities related to ageing and mental health.
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of observations and interventions.
Profile of the Trainee
Qualifications
Applications are open to professionals with a minimum of Level VI qualification in Phychogeriatrics.
• Supervision and guidance provided by Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana’s professional staff.
Personal and Social Skills
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
• Motivation to learn and interest in healthcare, social care, psychology, gerontology, or related fields.
• Strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and patience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different situations and work as part of a team.
• Organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
• No previous experience is required, though it is considered an asset.
Language Skills
Accepted languages: Candidates who speak and understand: Portuguese, Spanish, English, or French are welcome, provided they can communicate effectively with staff and residents.
Information Technology (IT) Skills
Not required.
Other Skills
Ability to communicate with clarity, empathy, and respect in any of the accepted languages is essential.
