Europe's oldest youth
mobility programme

Eurodyssey – What, Where, Who, When & How

WHAT?

What is Eurodyssey?

A youth mobility programme, managed at regional level by the participating regions of the Assembly of European Regions (AER), providing paid traineeships to young people based in these regions.

Which sectors offer traineeships?

Any sector (companies, organisations, public administrations) can host Eurodyssey trainees. We keep working on developing and promoting Eurodyssey, for more and more host organisations to join!

What is the status of Eurodyssey trainees?

This varies depending on the applicable regulations in the different participating regions. Regardless of their status, all trainees are paid.

In some regions, being registered in the unemployment agency is mandatory to apply to a Eurodyssey traineeship.

In some regions, Eurodyssey trainees receive a “scholarship”, or a “compensation”, or a “stipend”, or a “salary”. More information here.

What is covered?

Remuneration, accommodation, meal vouchers, public transportation, language course, international insurance.

For more information, check the Members -> Trainees / Youth section of the website.

WHERE?

Where do the traineeships take place?

In organisations (companies, associations, public administrations…) based in the participating regions of the Eurodyssey programme.

WHO?

Who can participate?

Young people aged between 18 and 30 years old (up to 35 in some regions), residing in a Eurodyssey participating region, can apply to a traineeship under the programme.

Who manages the programme?

The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is the international non-profit association in charge of the general coordination of the programme, website management and insurance. Its member regions can participate in Eurodyssey.

The participating regions are in charge of the day-to-day management of the programme in their region, i.e. the practical aspects to organise the hosting and sending of trainees under the programme. This includes selecting the companies / organisations who wish to host Eurodyssey trainees, reviewing the applications from young people, organising the accommodation, the remuneration, the language course, the social and cultural activities, etc.

Who can host Eurodyssey trainees?

Any legally registered organisation (company, association, public administration) in a participating region can submit an application to host Eurodyssey trainees. Once their application is reviewed and approved by their region, they can submit traineeship offers.

When are traineeship offers published?

Traineeship offers are published all year long, with some regions having defined hosting periods. Check the website regularly to see the latest published offers.
