Work Schedule
The working hours are usually 09:00 to 17:00 with some flexibility on arrival and leaving time. Working from home can be exceptionally arranged. Some events might require work late afternoon / early evening. Fondation EURACTIV seeks to ensure good work-life balance and therefore ensures flexibility in the work schedule. Travel abroad, within the EU, is not foreseen at this stage but might happen.

Les cours delangue se font en parallèle avec le stage professionnelen entreprise, et non pas avant le stage.

Description of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):

Europe\'s MediaLab (Fondation EURACTIV ) is a think-and-do tank for the health of the media sector in Europe. We strive for a healthy media sector that contributes to a healthy democracy and the emergence of a European public sphere. We design ideas and advocate for a strong EU Media Strategy; and we organise trainings and innovation projects for media professionals. - Assisting in content planning and development for MediaLab online channels, including the website management and daily monitoring, posting, scheduling and reporting of the MediaLab’s Twitter, ensuring all the information on main channels is accurate and up to date. -Preparation and distribution of the MediaLab’s monthly newsletters, including collecting external contributions. -Design event/program fliers, graphics and other communications material -Supporting the senior team members in identifying partnerships and mapping commercial opportunities through creative ideas and continuous engagement with the interested parties -Provide input for creative communication strategies and social media campaigns -Manage editorial and event calendars -Collaborate with EURACTIV staff on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications plus any administrative support that may be required.

Profile of the Trainee

Qualifications

-Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Law, European Studies) and keen interest in the EU media landscape -Experience with all MS Office and basic knowledge of social media -Fully fluent in English (oral & written), good French, other languages welcome! -Independent and proactive, detailed and motivated

Personal and Social Skills

· Good understanding of general EU affairs, policies and institutions. Specific affinity with Media policy is welcome. · Ability to communicate effectively through different channels (policy-oriented documents, at ease with public speaking) · Ability to research and analyse complex information · Ability to work in a fast-paced multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment · Autonomy and initiative taking Attention to details

Language Skills

Fluency in English French is an asset

Information Technology (IT) Skills

Affinity with basic collaborative tools (Google suite, Trello, WordPress, MailChimp, etc.), with basic MSoffice tools
