Description of the tasks to be undertaken by the trainee(s):
Who are we? The CETAF community unites major natural history and natural science museums, botanic gardens and research centres in Europe to create a unique research network made up by 40 Members including 71 research organizations across 22 countries. The collections at the heart of CETAF Members facilitate fundamental geodiversity and biodiversity research, particularly in taxonomy and systematics, that enables ground-breaking discoveries across broad fields of science. The CETAF community jointly holds 1.5 billion specimens that represent about 80% of the world’s described species. These institutions and their researchers are custodians of this irreplaceable natural heritage that serves scientific and social progress. We are looking for an enthusiastic Communications Assistant to support and develop project-related communication and dissemination actions, from strategic definition to implementation activities, for both our external and internal communications. You will participate in the development of communication materials (printed and digital); support the CETAF Communications team in networking, contributing to reinforcing connections, tightening engagement with CETAF members and stakeholders. Main tasks * Participate in development of communication materials (printed and digital). * Develop effective communication and dissemination strategies * Manage internal communications (newsletters) * Produce communication content (from press releases to blog content and social media posts) * Organize initiatives and plan events * Foster relationships with partner and member institutions * Create social media campaigns contents * Update the website * Propose, co-develop visual multimedia documents/material (e.g. press kit, flyers, brochures, presentations, posters, videos) * Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches and work on layouts ready for print/online posts
Profile of the Trainee
Degree/Interest in Communications, Public Relations, Event Planning, Media Manager, etc.
Personal and Social Skills
* Experience in web design and content production * Experience in copywriting and editing * Experience in social media management * Comfortable use of various communication tools and platforms (e.g. project management tools) * Solid understanding of project management principles * Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills Outstanding organizational and planning abilities Well-organized with an eye for detail Proactiveness, networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to members and stakeholders. Ability to work both in a team and independently Enthusiastic and positive attitude
Fluent/native English. Good knowledge of French and other EU languages is considered a plus
Information Technology (IT) Skills
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office * Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Google, and Social Media * Competency in CMS management for web maintenance (Drupal/Wordpress)
